With Holi right around the corner, there is no limit to the level of excitement among Indians when it comes to celebrating the joyous festival of colours.

From wearing plain clothes to blasting music on speakers, visiting each and every house and running after each other to apply gulal on your family and friends and dancing like there’s no tomorrow, the spirit and enthusiasm while playing Holi know no bounds.

While one should never have to compromise on playing with colours, due emphasis should be placed on protecting your hair from the side effects of playing with colours during the festival. Your tresses might end up experiencing the consequences later on in the form of hair fall, dry scalp, and much more.

Since we rely on our favourite Bollywood stars when it comes to hopping onto a new beauty or fashion trend, why not borrow some haircare tips from them to protect your hair better? With that being said, here are a few haircare tips B-town actresses follow before and after playing Holi to maintain their gorgeous mane.

Pre and Post Holi haircare tips

Deepika Padukone

According to Jagran.com, Deepika ties her hair in a bun or braid and applies coconut oil to them. To further protect her skin and hair, she prefers playing with natural colours to prevent any allergies or reactions that might occur later on.

Kriti Sanon

Just like Deepika, Kriti also believes in the power of coconut oil after tying her hair in a bun to protect her hair from the after-effects of Holi.

Vidya Balan

The Mission Mangal actress follows the same coconut oil remedy before stepping out to play Holi. Her post-Holi haircare tips involve washing her hair with a mild shampoo at least twice.

Shraddha Kapoor

The Ek Villain actress prefers using fruit oils such as grapeseed, papaya or almond oil on her hair as part of her pre-Holi haircare routine. These oils help remove the colours easily and prevent hair from any damage, the publication stated.

Anushka Sharma

The Harry Met Sejal actress also uses coconut oil after tying her hair in a braid before stepping out to play Holi. Coconut oil is known to contain nutrients that act as a shield against the chemicals present in gulal.
